Brief historical context
Boucheron was founded in Paris in 1858 and became the first jewellery house to establish itself on Place Vendôme in 1893. The house played a prominent role in the Belle Époque and art nouveau and later in the art deco period; for style context, see our art nouveau and Edwardian guides.
Naturalistic series — animals, plants, motifs — form a separate collecting market within the house's oeuvre.
